"Wisconsin taxpayers are overtaxed. The last state budget increased spending by 15%, pushing the budget above $100 billion for the first time in state history, and Madison is still sitting on a surplus. As governor, I will return the entire surplus to taxpayers."

Candidate Social MediaOpen source ↗

This backroom “relief deal” does nothing to repeal Governor Evers’ 400-year property tax increase. It does nothing to stop Madison’s addiction to taxing and spending. And after Governor Evers’ PSC approved billions in utility rate hikes, a one-time $300 check barely scratches the surface. When I am governor, the gimmicks stop and lasting relief begins. The 400-year property tax increase will be repealed. Madison’s addiction to overtaxing families will be dismantled. Surplus funds will be returned to the taxpayers where they belong, and Wisconsin workers will keep more of what they earn from the very beginning. Madison has taken far too much from you for far too long, and that ends with me. You deserve more than a drop.

"During my short time in Congress, I have constantly voted against blowout spending omnibuses that waste your tax dollars, and now with DOGE pushing many of these eyebrow-raising boondoggles into public view, I hope it lights a fire under the rest of my colleagues in Congress to take DOGE’s recommendations seriously and cut wasteful spending."

Cosponsored HB 521 - Under this bill, with the approval of the electors in the county at a referendum,
Milwaukee County may impose an additional sales and use tax at the rate of 1
percent of the sales price of tangible personal property, goods, and services sold or
used in the county. The bill requires that 25 percent of the revenue from the
additional tax be used to provide residential property tax relief, divided evenly
between county and municipal property tax relief, and that 7 percent of the revenue
be used for public health infrastructure projects. For the remaining 68 percent of tax
revenue, the bill requires that the county use half for its operational and capital
expenses and distribute the other half to the cities, villages, and towns in the county
for their operational and capital expenses. Distributions of revenue to the cities,
villages, and towns are based on their population. Under the bill, the expenditure
by a municipality of the distributed tax revenue will not affect the municipality's
payment under the expenditure restraint program. The bill also provides that the
revenue and expenditures will not impact any local government funding formula.

IMMIGRATION: Support Sanctuary Policies & Mass Amnesty

Help illegal immigrant criminals avoid deportation. Give amnesty to illegal immigrants.

“These so-called sanctuary city policies are nothing new. They are also illegal. In fact, they have been illegal since Bill Clinton signed a law making them illegal in the 1990s. As we have seen in recent months, these misguided policies serve as a magnet for illegal aliens – overwhelming schools, hospitals, and other local services... Because these policies prevent local law enforcement from reporting illegal aliens to ICE, police are often forced to release foreign criminals from custody – who of course go on to target new victims. That doesn’t just put sanctuary cities at risk – it puts every other neighboring community at risk too. "

Candidate WebsiteOpen source ↗

"In Congress, Tom led the fight to secure our borders and end sanctuary cities, even pushing to withhold federal funding from states and local governments that refused to enforce immigration laws. As governor, he will bring that same determination to Madison, because the safety and prosperity of all Wisconsinites will always be his top priority."

"Just this week, President Trump signed an executive order to create a nationwide list of sanctuary jurisdictions—something I’ve long advocated for—so we can ensure these areas no longer receive federal funding. I’ll be watching to ensure places like Madison and Minneapolis are on that list."

Crowley INTRODUCED AB 413 - If passed, the bill would have significantly lowered the cost of higher education for eligible undocumented immigrants living in Wisconsin and would have given them driver's licenses.

Specifically, the bill would have had the following impacts:In-State Tuition Access: It would have created a nonresident tuition exemption, allowing undocumented students—including DACA recipients—to pay the much lower resident (in-state) tuition rates rather than the significantly more expensive out-of-state rates at Universities of Wisconsin institutions.

Criteria: To qualify under the proposed law, an individual without legal permanent residency would have had to meet two main requirements:

- Graduate from a Wisconsin high school or earn a high school equivalency diploma (GED) in the state.

- File an affidavit with the university affirming that they have applied for legal permanent residency, or will apply as soon as they are eligible to do so

Crowley authored Bill 1051 - Red Flag Law: Creates a court process allowing a judge to prohibit a person from possessing firearms and to order the surrender of all firearms he or she owns. A law enforcement officer, family member, household member, or close friend may file the petition, and the court issues a temporary restraining order if it finds reasonable grounds to believe the person is substantially likely to injure himself, herself, or another person if allowed to possess a firearm. At a subsequent hearing, the court may grant a longer-term injunction barring firearm possession under the same standard.

“In Milwaukee County, we know that the climate crisis is a real, pressing threat to our environment, our economy, our health, and our quality of life,” Crowley said at an event reaffirming the Paris Climate Accord as county executive. Recent historic floods show that the Midwest is not safe from climate change and must build resilient infrastructure and make long term plans to combat global warming. He led Milwaukee County’s first-ever climate roadmap aiming for zero carbon emissions by 2050 and 50% interim reduction by 2030. He says the County has reduced its carbon emissions by 50% by 2005.
